FNSS and CSG Aim for the European Market with New JV TurDef

FNSS and Czechia-based CSG signed a framework agreement to form the Danube Defence Technologies JV to answer the needs of the European market in land systems.

Per a framework agreement signed during Eurosatory 2026, FNSS and CSG are set to form a new player in the European land systems market as Danube Defence Technologies JV.

The new JV in Europe is expected to have its shareholders as CSG Defence at 51% and FNSS at 49%.

Danube will focus on medium combat vehicles, starting from the CFL-120 KARPAT medium tank based on KAPLAN MT of FNSS, but using Leonardo’s HITFACT MKII 120 mm turret, providing higher firepower. FNSS and CSG jointly developed the CFL-120 Karpat, and production took place in Slovakia.

With this, FNSS will be entering the European market not only with export pitches but also with an industrial leg to be jointly built with CSG. Prior to this, Otokar also made an industrial entry into Europe through Romania, which will locally produce the Cobra II 4x4 tactical wheeled vehicle.

CSG also signed a cooperation deal with ASELSAN [BIST:ASELS], with which a new KORKUT 35 mm air defence system configuration is in works, using the Czech firm’s Tatra Force 6x6 armoured truck rather than an AFV as a platform.
