KC-46A Performs a 45-hour long Non-stop Flight Test

The USAF KC-46A completed a 45-hour non-stop flying test, showcasing thatthe fleet can reach anywhere in the World by non-stop flying. The 22nd Air Refuelling Wing (22 ARW) of the Air Mobility Command (AMC) in the United States Air Force (USAF) successfully executed a non-stop high-endurance flight test with the KC-46A Pegasus tanker aircraft. The flights related to the Magellan Project began on June 29th and ended on July 1st.

The flight was the most recent occurrence of the KC-46A Pegasus, AMC's newest tanker aircraft, participating in a Maximum Endurance Operation (MEO). Overall, MEO improves the aircraft's mission capability regarding endurance and manpower. MEO's methodology enables AMC to grow its manpower, resources, and aircraft to continue and support initial activities and projects and promote the Joint Force's global connectedness.

Tankers supply the fuel that powers Rapid Global Mobility. During these flights, the KC-46 demonstrated its versatility by supplying fuel to a range of aircraft, including B-2 Spirit bombers, C-17 Globemaster III, F-15E Strike Eagles, and other KC-46s, showcasing its multi-role capabilities.
