Agreement formalises development of road-mobile launch platforms for Türkiye’s Tayfun missile programme, built on Koluman’s Derman 8x8 chassis.
Koluman Otomotiv and Roketsan have signed an agreement at SAHA EXPO 2026 to develop high-mobility launch platforms for the Tayfun missile programme, marking a further step in Türkiye’s push to field road-mobile missile systems.

The agreement centres on integrating Tayfun launch and support functions onto Koluman’s Derman 8x8 tactical wheeled vehicle. The platform is designed to combine launch, transport-loading, and command-and-control elements within a modular architecture, enabling rapid deployment and improved survivability in contested environments.
While Roketsan leads missile system development, Koluman provides the mobility backbone—an increasingly critical component as modern missile doctrine prioritises dispersed operations and shoot-and-scoot capabilities. This type of integrated launcher architecture reduces deployment time, simplifies logistical chains, and enhances operational flexibility in high-threat scenarios.
The Tayfun programme represents a visible step in Türkiye’s efforts to establish an operational ballistic missile capability. Road-mobile launchers are central to such systems, enabling flexible basing, reducing vulnerability to pre-emptive strikes, and increasing operational tempo.
At SAHA EXPO, Koluman also showcased its broader defence vehicle portfolio. The company displayed its Derman 8x8 tractor, in service with the Turkish Armed Forces and capable of transporting heavy platforms, including main battle tanks. It also introduced the KISRAK 4x4 ambulance variant for the first time, expanding its range of mission-specific configurations aligned with NATO standards.
Koluman’s production activities are supported by its integrated facility in Tarsus, Mersin, which manages end-to-end manufacturing under NATO AQAP 2110 standards.
The SAHA EXPO engagement also reflects Koluman’s export ambitions, with a focus on NATO markets as well as the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia, where demand for mobile missile launchers and heavy military logistics vehicles continues to expand.
The Tayfun launcher cooperation highlights a broader shift in Türkiye’s defence industry towards delivering fully integrated systems, where mobility platforms are not auxiliary elements but central to operational capability.
