Anadolu News Agency stated that Otokar exhibited the pickup version of its COBRA II 4X4 armoured vehicle abroad for the first time at the Black Sea Defence and Aerospace Conference (BSDA) in Romania. Otokar, which conducts contract negotiations with the country in a tender held in Romania, took part in the BSDA held in the capital, Bucharest. The company participated in the fair with ARMA 8X8 and COBRA II. The company exhibited the pickup version of COBRA II abroad for the first time. With its modular structure and mobility, COBRA II stands out. More than 20 users in more than 15 countries actively use it in United Nations and NATO missions. COBRA II Pickup offers a wider range of uses for different tasks by increasing the payload capacity while maintaining the features of the existing COBRA II. The vehicle can be adapted to different tasks thanks to its modular design. It can be used in tasks such as logistics support, ammunition transportation, field maintenance, and rescue. The vehicle's large loading area makes transporting heavy loads, large equipment, and weapon systems easier. Thus, various materials and equipment can be safely transported according to operational needs. Romanian Ministry of Defence company C.N. Romtehnica S.A., Participating in the "4X4 Tactical Wheeled Armoured Vehicles Tender", is in talks with Otokar. The proposal submitted by Otokar, which prepared a comprehensive potential business plan with its local partner to meet the requirements of the 4X4 vehicle program, includes the project's technical, commercial and financial aspects, as well as creating added value and talent development in the country. If the agreement is signed, Otokar plans to use the facility in Romania as a strategic centre for its business in Europe. It aims to carry out research and development activities at the facility as well as local production activities.
