Poland will receive four helicopters in the framework of a contract amounting to $ 373 million, signed in April 2019. The helicopter will serve anti-submarine warfare and transport and replace existing Soviet-era Mil Mi-14 aircraft. The AW-101 Merlin can carry 38 passengers, 26 fully equipped soldiers, or five tons of cargo in its transport version. Alternatively, it can carry three tons of freight or 30 people seated, fully equipped troops.
