The Spanish government has finalised a contract with the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) to purchase 25 Eurofighter aircraft.

The Spanish government has contracted with the Germany-based NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) to purchase 25 Eurofighter aircraft. Spain has declined the F-35A proposal and opted for the twinjet fighter instead. The Halcon II programme involves the procurement of 21 single-seat and four twin-seat Eurofighter aircraft, intended to partially replace the F-18 fleet currently in service with the Spanish Air and Space Force. The jets will be in T4+ configuration. The new agreement will expand the Spanish Eurofighter fleet to 115 aircraft. The initial delivery is scheduled for 2030.
The fighters will feature advanced avionics E-Scan radar and can deploy Brimstone III and Meteor.
