STM’s recent teaser for a new UAV hints at the possibility of STM having tested an FPV UAV for kamikaze use as a follow-up to the Kargu kamikaze UAV.
The video features the operator holding a remote controller without a screen, which hints at the development of an FPV UAV. This is because the remote controller for Kargu includes a video feed as it is not an FPV type.
It is not known if this is an entirely new platform or a development of Kargu.
STM has experience with various types of rotary-wing UAVs including the kamikaze Kargu, munition-dropping Boyga, and the camera-carrying Togan.
Additionally, STM has been working on alternative warheads and guidance systems for kamikaze UAVs. For instance, a multi-mode RF-based guidance system including home-on-emission, illumination, and navigation modes will be available for Kargu.
