The U.S. Army has published an RFI to integrate multi-function AESA radars into its AH-64 Apache attack helicopters.
The RFI document states that firms can provide an AESA radar solution that can be integrated into the weapons pylon of an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter.
The providers will be selected in May 2025, with demonstrations expected to take place in the last quarter of 2025 at Redstone Arsenal.
The asked capabilities include fire control, terrain mapping, obstacle warning, and detection of airborne objects.
Leonardo might be a front-runner as a recent provider of equipment and one of the firms with such radars in use, such as the Osprey family of AESA radars.
Osprey 30 and Osprey 50 are multi-function AESA radars that are small enough to distribute multiple radars around the helicopter.
