Turkish BMS Cooperates with Egyptian Amstone on UAVs TurDef

Turkish UAV manufacturer BMS Defence is cooperating with the major Egyptian firm Amstone on its electric-driven ORHUN and electric+gasoline AYBARS-II UAVs.

During EDEX 2025, it was observed that BMS Defence and Amstone have introduced ORHUN and AYBARS-II VTOL UAVs to Egyptian service. Additionally, AYBARS-II has been jointly exported to other users.

ORHUN is the all-electric VTOL UAV of BMS Defence’s line, featuring an MTOW of 30 kg and a payload capacity of three kilograms. The UAV can fly for three hours with a two-kilogram EO/IR camera and transmit to multiple infantry units at a range of 10 km.

AYBARS-II (AEROGARD VTOL 3900-H) is fitted with an internal combustion engine for forward flight slightly differs from similar hybrid VTOLs, with the option for conventional takeoff to consume less electricity. Thus, the already longer endurance between seven to eight hours with VTOL can be extended to 11 to 12 hours with runway takeoff.
