Baykar’s Akıncı Attack UAV B has performed endurance flight. According to Baykar Chief Technology Officer Selçuk Bayraktar's statement on social media, the aircraft has taken off with its Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) which is approximately 1.5 tonnes.
Bayraktar AKINCI B, the model of AKINCI Attack UAV equipped with 2 X 750 Hp Pratt & Whitney engines performed the endurance flight. Delegations from Defence Industry Agency (DIA) and Air Forces Command observed the tests.Selçuk Bayraktar has not provided technical details about the time in the air and the altitude.
TÜBİTAK Defence Industries Research and Development Institute’s (SAGE) 3000 lb NEB is spotted as a payload under the belly of the UAV. NEB is a Turkish abbreviation for Penetrator Bomb.AKINCI performed this flight for the first time last year in June 2021. At that time, it had reached an altitude of over 30 000 feet and an endurance of 13 hours 24 minutes flight time. This time it reached 10 000 feet.
