Turkish Defence Ministry Press and Public Relations Advisor Admiral Zeki Aktürk is entitled to be the “spokesperson.” Aktürk will also carry out “adviser” duties.
The Ministry of National Defense's Press and Public Relations Advisor, Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, will henceforth be referred to as the “Ministry Spokesperson” along with the job description of “Advisor.” The new title was announced today at the weekly press briefing.
Admiral Aktürk, who has been acting as the institution’s spokesperson with his performance in the Ministry of National Defence, has thus officially assumed this position. There was no such institution in the Ministry of National Defence before. Previously, the “ porte parole” position at the ministry level existed within Turkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This appointment is of particular importance as it demonstrates the importance that Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler places on making the institution's voice heard to the world.
