Anduril’s YFQ-44 CCA Completes First AIM-120 AMRAAM Firing

Anduril’s YFQ-44 CCA Completes First AIM-120 AMRAAM Firing TurDef

Anduril’s YFQ-44 Fury collaborative combat aircraft has completed its first firing test with the AIM-120 AMRAAM beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile.

Following captive test flights, YFQ-44 of Anduril for the USAF’s CCA Increment 1 programme performed its first weapons firing with the AIM-120 AMRAAM beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM).

YFQ/FQ-44 will be able to carry two AIM-120 missiles on underwing pylons.

Anduril’s FQ-44 submission in the CCA Increment 1 is based on Blue Force’s Fury design that was developed as an unmanned aggressor aircraft to represent low-observable fighters with high agility and speed.

Recently, Anduril and GA-ASI have been selected for the production phase in the first increment of the CCA programme of the USAF, with FQ-44 and FQ-42.

Before YFQ-44's firing test, Turkish KIZILELMA unmanned fighter using onboard MURAD 100-A AESA radar scored a hit with the GÖKDOĞAN BVRAAM and a similar test from the Australian MQ-28 with AIM-120 followed shortly after.
