ASELSAN Brings Integrated Border Security with BORDERGUARD

During the Fifth MRBS Summit, ASELSAN put the BORDERGUARD integrated border security system, consisting of sensors, command units, and effectors on display.

ASELSAN’s BORDERGUARD border security system, allowing facilities of different layouts to be fitted with an array of sensors, command systems, and effectors working in conjunction, was presented during the Fifth Military Radar and Border Security Summit. The poster for BORDERGUARD also states that the system has been combat-proven.

The main sensors within the system include the MİDAS intruder detection system, seismic sensors, EO systems, gunshot detection systems, and radars.
On the other hand, effectors are focused on targets like personnel and UAVs. While this is not the entire portfolio, SARP RCWS, GÖKBERK laser weapon, KORKUT SPAAG, İHTAR jammer, and ŞAHİN 130/40GL C-UAS system were present in ASELSAN’s poster. It can be inferred that newer systems like KORKUT 110/35S (GÖKER) dual-role defence system and EJDERHA 200-AD HPeM weapon can be integrated as well due to their workings tailored for emerging threats.

BORDERGUARD's C4ISR capabilities also have a provision for UAVs/UGVs/USVs to act as remote sensors and effectors (Lethal weaponry or non-lethal ones like AVAZ acoustic device) to expand the field of influence and cover blind spots.

Before the UAVs' step into the spotlight, border security matters mostly had revolved around countering intruders on foot or wheels. However, Ukraine's strikes on Russian mainland with small forces and UAVs or Russia's recent incursions on European airspace using simple UAVs for psychological warfare (potentially intelligence as well) has shown that the border security structure needs to adapt to the threats from above as well. ASELSAN, having developed/developing a wide array of C-UAS solutions can support the said adaptation of border security swiftly.
