ASELSAN has delivered AKKOR 100 active protection systems for Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks that have undergone a modernisation as a survivability upgrade.
ASELSAN’s [BIST:ASELS] 2025 activity report stated that, in addition to deliveries for ALTAY MBTs, AKKOR 100 active protection system (APS) has also been delivered for upgraded Leopard 2A4 MBTs.
This signals that ASELSAN has ramped up the production of AKKOR 100 APS to keep up with not only the new ALTAY MBT but also the modernisation of Leopard 2A4 MBTs. ALTAY and upgraded Leopard 2A4 MBTs are to be the most capable in the Turkish Army’s inventory. In contrast, the M60 fleet, with the majority of them being upgraded at different levels form a fleet defined by strength in quantity.
Following the integration of MBTs, which have a higher priority when it comes to APS integration, new generation armoured fighting vehicles will also be fitted with the hard-kill system, with the integration work having continued in 2025. Likely, BMC’s ALTUĞ 8x8 armoured vehicle in IFV configuration, using ASELSAN’s SARP 100/35 35 mm turret, will receive AKKOR 100 due to the existing provision.
