ASELSAN has shown that the CENK 300-N AESA search radar is under development for fast attack craft and similarly sized platforms.
ASELSAN's monthly magazine has given information about the new radar in its 120th issue. The 4D radar operates in an X-band with an instrumented range of 180 km, beyond that of CENK 200-N (or MAR-D). CENK 300-N's capabilities include a high-sensitivity location for gun/missile engagements and rapid updates for tracking. With a size similar to CENK 200-N and the same radar band, CENK 300-N will likely be a higher-end alternative.
The radar might be used as the main search radar for the future Turkish Fast Attack Craft (TTHB), considering the project's timeframe, but export designs are also likely to benefit. Currently, ASELSAN's CENK 200-N (Barbaros-class frigate MLU, GÖKDENİZ-100/35 CIWS, Bayraktar-class LSTs, DIMDEG) and CENK 400-N (İstif-class frigates) naval searching radars are operational with the Turkish Navy. Export agreements have also been signed for both radars.
