KALKAN 050-G AESA radar is ASELSAN's new option for air defence systems, alongside a possible new low-altitude air defence system.
KALKAN 050-G is a multi-function radar for low and medium-range air defence systems. Unlike traditional searching radars that rotate, KALKAN 050-G is distributed around the turret for 360-degree lateral coverage.
The radar can detect UAV (micro/mini/tactical/UCAV), fighter, helicopter, and secondarily ground targets and work in conjunction with the AKREP 100-G fire control radar used on KORKUT SSA 35 mm SPAAG.
The radar is shown on a gun/missile air defence system placed on an 8x8 armoured vehicle with one 35 mm revolver cannon and eight MANPADS missiles. No information regarding the air defence system on the brochure has been provided, but it might be a new air defence system in development that uses KALKAN 050-G radar.

KALKAN 050-G also strongly resembles the searching radar shown on the GÜRZ hybrid air defence system, which was revealed officially in IDEF'23. However, the panels appear slightly larger on GÜRZ, suggesting a derivative if not the same radar.
A similar AESA radar from ASELSAN is the AURA 200-G, which primarily serves against manoeuvring low-altitude threats (UAVs, helicopters, low-flying aircraft) and secondarily against Rocket/Artillery/Mortar targets. The radar is used on the KORKUT 25 C-UAS system, combining NEFER-L RCWS, 25 mm ATOM airburst ammunition, and four AURA 200-G radars.
