Following the appointment of Professor Mustafa İlbaş as ASFAT's General Manager on March 3, replacing Behcet Karataş, who retired, ASFAT has now announced two new Deputy General Managers: Serdar Ümit Tezeren and Esat Mahmut Yılmaz.
Serdar Ümit Tezeren began his career in 1998 at the Turkish Naval Forces. His career included specialising in electronic warfare, radar systems, maritime surveillance, and deployment of naval air platform combat systems. After resigning from the Turkish Navy in January 2013, Tezeren joined RST, where he worked for six years. In June 2019, he moved to ASFAT as Head of Naval Warfare Systems, responsible for combat systems integration on six naval vessels built under Pakistan's MILGEM and OPV projects. He joined TAIS Shipyards as Business Development Manager in June 2022, then returned to ASFAT as Director of Naval Programs in April 2024.
Serving in several roles within the Turkish Armed Forces, Esat Mahmut Yılmaz finally became Brigadier General and Director General of Legal Services at the Ministry of Defence (MoD). In 2024, he left the military and moved into civilian professional life working with ASFAT.
