Chad Uses TUSAŞ’s Aksungur Armed UAV

It is learned that Turkish Aerospace (TUSAŞ) delivered AKSUNGUR Armed UAV to Chad. The UAV was seen in the Chadian armed forces for the first time as it attended the 15th anniversary ceremonies of establishing the Chadian armed forces. The UAV may carry 12 guided munitions even though it was presented with eight Roketsan-produced MAM-L munition and Argos II cameras. Chad will conduct combat and ISR missions with AKSUNGUR. The UAV may reach an altitude of 12 thousand meters.

It will be used to fight against terrorism, mercenaries, kidnapping for ransom and all kinds of banditry activities. Chad's Armed Forces already have three HÜRKUŞ-C light attack aircraft and two ANKA-S armed UAVs. The single-engine ANKA-S and twin-engine Aksungur have the same hull structure, which provides significant advantages to its users in terms of maintenance, repair, training, and logistic support. Chad also sent 20 engineers to training at TUSAŞ.
