The Czech Air Force will receive its first aircraft in 2031, and the delivery will be completed by 2025. The aircraft to be received is the latest advanced Block 4 version.
With the signing of the LOA between the Czech Republic and the U.S. government, the Czech Republic became the 18th country to join the global F-35 program. Apart from aircraft, procurement also includes personnel training, logistics services and support, and the development of other support services.
Lockheed Martin said that by the 2030s, more than 600 F-35s would operate together in 10 European countries.
Currently, the Czech Air Force is operating 14 Saab Gripen aircraft leased from Sweden while waiting for the arrival of its first F-35A in 2031.
