DSEI UK 2025: Scheibel Unveils Armed Camcopter Variants TurDef

Schiebel, known for Camcopter S-100 RUAV for maritime use, unveiled the armed variants S-101 and the scaled-up S-301 at the DSEI UK 2025 defence exhibition.

Australian firm Schiebel which has delivered the Camcopter S-100 UAV to many European customers appears to have revived the idea of arming the Camcopter RUAVs with lightweight weaponry as S-101 and S-301.

Camcopter S-101 is essentially the original S-100 with armament hardpoints to mount two LMM guided missiles from Thales. LMM is a missile extensively used by the Royal Navy onboard helicopters, thus, this might be taken as an offer to the UK as well. Like LMM, Camcopter S-100 is also in active service with the Royal Navy.

Camcopter S-301 is a different story as a much larger platform with a MTOW of 660 kg. Having a fuel+payload capacity of 340 kg, the new Camcopter variant can fly for 24 hours with a 50 kg payload or six hours with a 250 kg payload.

Payload options for Camcopter S-301 include EO/IR systems (Up to two), lightweight radars, mini sonobuoys, and various weaponry. Whereas S-101 is set to use the LMM missile, the armament is still uncertain for S-301, even though it is shown with Thales FZ275 laser-guided rockets.

TurDef learned that Schiebel is in talks with various firms, including ROKETSAN, for armament integration on S-301. ROKETSAN’s counterpart to FZ275, CİRİT, has been integrated on T129 ATAK and AH-1W attack helicopters.
