Secretary of Defence Industry Haluk Görgün announced that the sector’s exports increased by 61 per cent in October, reaching $820 Million.
Noting that the defence sector reached $5.125 Billion in the first ten months of 2024, the SSB President expressed an 18 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Görgün also noted that companies exported products to 185 different countries in 2024.
Görgün said, “Our goal is to strengthen our large-scale companies and SMEs in export markets and ensure sectoral sustainability. In this direction, we will continue to increase our cooperation activities worldwide.”
According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data, the Turkish defence and aviation sector peaked in exports in May 2024 with $876 million volume.
