Greece-based SAS Tech announced the firing tests of its SARISA II armed quadcopter UAV, which was developed to launch 70 mm unguided/guided rockets.
In a press release, the firm stated that SARISA II demonstrated its capability to launch 70 mm unguided and FZ275 laser-guided rockets of Thales Belgium. A test with the FZ275 rocket was conducted at a range of 1700 meters with a deviation of 0.2 m from the deviation point.
The press release also states that Hellenic Special Forces has introduced a munition-dropping UAV, Empusa EMPX6T, into service. The UAV can carry up to three grenades.
SAS Tech is also planning the AIHMI one-way attack UAV release test, which was interrupted due to weather conditions. The fixed-wing UAV fires a single 70 mm unguided rocket from SARISA II. AIHMI has gliding and propeller-driven configurations that launch the rocket instead of ramming the target like kamikaze UAVs. The UAV is also offered for helicopters in a cabin launcher configuration.
