HAVELSAN and Yonca Technical Shipyard’s SANCAR unmanned surface vessel has carried out live-fire trials with a 12.7 mm stabilized weapon integrated into the ADVENT.
SANCAR, developed jointly by HAVELSAN and Yonca Technical Shipyard, has completed live-fire tests in the Sea of Marmara in the presence of officials from the Secretariat of Defence Industries and the Turkish Naval Forces Command. The 12.7 mm stabilized weapon system, integrated with the ADVENT ROTA version of the combat management system, achieved high accuracy during the trials.

With its engagement capability, mine-detection functions, and autonomous mission features, SANCAR becomes the first and only unmanned surface vessel fully integrated with HAVELSAN’s ADVENT system. The ADVENT ROTA configuration, created specifically for unmanned platforms, was used on an unmanned system for the first time.
This integration enables SANCAR to operate seamlessly alongside other naval platforms in the Turkish Navy equipped with ADVENT. Thanks to its network-centric warfare capability and autonomous command infrastructure, the vessel is positioned to play a central role in future naval combat scenarios.
HAVELSAN General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar highlighted the milestone, noting that SANCAR represents a major step in Türkiye’s autonomous naval capabilities and will spearhead the company’s expanding family of unmanned surface vessels for both domestic and international markets.
