Morocco Receives the First AH-64E Apache Helicopters TurDef

Morocco officially received the first batch of AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, marking the first part of its 2020 purchase of 24 units.

Early this year, helicopters were transferred from the US to the Moroccan Armed Forces, but no official reaction was noted. Confirmed prior reports by the formal delivery ceremony.

On March 3, 2025, the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces accepted six AH-64E Apache attack helicopters into their fleet. Signed with the United States in 2020, these aircraft are part of a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract. The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces' social media outlets confirmed the delivery. With this purchase, Morocco now ranks as the 17th AH-64 Apache attack helicopter operator.
Following protracted negotiations, Morocco obtained US State Department clearance for the purchase via the FMS program in 2019. Morocco then inked a $4.25 billion contract with Boeing for 24 AH-64E Apaches on June 25, 2020, with an option for 12 additional aircraft, spare parts, and maintenance services.
