Deputy Defence Minister Musa Heybet has been appointed chairman of the board of directors of ASFAT.
Deputy Defence Minister Musa Heybet has been appointed chairman of the board of directors of ASFAT (Military Factory and Shipyard Operation Inc.), which is affiliated with the Ministry of National Defence (MSB).
In July 2023, Muhsin Dere handed over the ASFAT Board of Directors Chairmanship to Alpaslan Kavaklıoğlu. In June 2024, Alpaslan Kavaklıoğlu handed over the position to Bilal Durdalı.
With today’s change, Musa Heybet took over the Board of Directors Chairmanship from Deputy Minister of National Defence Bilal Durdalı.
Heybet took over the deputy ministerial seat vacated by Celal Sami Tüfekçi, but he assumed Durdalı’s duties, not Tüfekçi’s. Durdalı, therefore, took over the duties vacated by Tüfekçi. Tüfekçi was also responsible for ASFAT as deputy mayor during his term of office but never served on the Board of Directors of ASFAT.
