Naval Group signed a contract with ST Engineering Marine Ltd. for the mid-life upgrade (MLU)of the Republic of Singapore Navy's Formidable-class frigates. The two companies will continue the partnership started in 2000 with the frigates' construction programme.
ST Engineering announced on December 14, 2023, that its subsidiary ST Engineering Marine Ltd had secured a contract with the Defence Ministry of Singapore for the mid-life upgrade of the Formidable-class frigates. The French Naval Groups will act as the programme's subcontractor for ST Engineering. This will be a continuation of the partnership that started in 2008 during the construction of frigates. The first frigate was built at Lorient Shipyard in France.
