Gazi University Professor Mustafa İlbaş has been appointed as the new General Manager of the Defence Ministry’s Askeri Fabrika ve Tersane İşletme Anonim Şirketi (ASFAT).
Former General Manager Behcet Karataş handed over his duties to İlbaş in a ceremony attended by Deputy Minister of National Defence and ASFAT Chairman Musa Heybet, as well as Board Member Major General Orhan Gürdal.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister Heybet stressed that such positions are a sort of duty rotation, with each individual serving to the best of their ability throughout their term. He remarked, “One day, we shall pass on our responsibilities to our successors. Mustafa İlbaş is an engineering scientist. We believe he will make major contributions and propel ASFAT to even higher heights.”
Behcet Karataş was appointed as ASFAT’s General Manager in January 2024.
