New Type Landing Ship Delivery Begins in 2025 TurDef

The Turkish Navy expands its landing ship capacity. The first New-Type Landing Craft is delivered, and the last will be in service by 2027.
While the last vessel is expected to be delivered in May 2027, the first vessel under the New Type Landing Craft Project, which comprises the acquisition of eight ships, will enter service in November 2025, according to the Turkish Ministry of National Defence (MoD).
The MoD said at a press briefing regarding the project following the launch event of Ç-159, the first class Craft hosted at Anadolu Shipyard on 22 February 2025.
The project—managed by the Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB) under Anadolu Shipyard as the principal contractor—started in 2024. Every vessel developed under this project can carry three ALTAY Main Battle Tanks or different kinds of vehicles and soldiers.
The last craft on the schedule is planned to start operations in May 2027.
