Second Round on Danish Frigate: Chief of Defence Dismissed

Royal Danish Navy frigate has encountered a vital malfunction that risks the ship in the Red Sea, and the Chief of Defence is dismissed. Danish Frigate “Iver Huitfeldt” (F361), which was on a mission in the Red Sea as part of Operation Prosperity Guardian, on March 9, was targeted by Houthis. The Frigate intercepted all the attacking drones, but it was concealed that the radar systems acquired from Thaleswere malfunctioning. A Danish publication, Olfi, reached the commander’s report, which indicated that the Frigate had been sent into enemy territory with faulty radar and ammunition. The defence minister demanded an explanation from Lieutenant General Flemming Lentfer, who has been Chief of the Defence Staff since 2019. The Frigate returned to Korsør on April 4, and according to the Forswaret website, Pedersen was replaced on April 3 by General Michael Wiggers Hyldgaard.
