Defence Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic announced at that time that the contract with Airbus to acquire two C295 and a batch of H145M helicopters would be signed in a few months. Airbus announced that agreement stating that the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence are becoming the 36th operator of C295 worldwide. The contract, which was signed in Madrid, will be accompanied by a Government-to-Government supervision agreement between the Ministries of Defence of Spain and the Republic of Serbia. In transport configuration, the two aircraft will be equipped with Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion avionics suite.
