AKSUNGUR UCAV Proves MAM-T Capacity

TUSAŞ’s AKSUNGUR UCAV unveiled ROKETSAN MAM-T munition capacity at the DENİZKURDU-II/2024 exercise, according to footage shared by the Turkish MoD. AKSUNGUR, having released MAM-L in previous tests and exercises, dropped the heavy member of the MAM family, MAM-T, for the first time during the DENİZKURDU-II/2024 exercise. A target on the land was hit successfully. The UCAV also flew in formation with a S-70 Seahawk helicopter and a P235 maritime patrol aircraft. MAM-T has additionally proven itself against small and fast-moving targets during a test with AKINCI UCAV, where an ALBATROS-K target USV was hit with targeting from the ASELFLIR-500 electro-optical system. Other highlights from the footage include the AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopter transferred to the Turkish Navy and TCG ANADOLU (L-400) LHD. AKSUNGUR UCAV serves as an important ISR asset with an endurance of more than 50 hours and the capability to carry an electro-optical system and SAR simultaneously. The UCAV is planned to be used in electronic warfare with the UAV-SOJ project and fitted with new sensing payloads like sonobuoys. The Chief of Naval Operations, Rear Admiral Kaan Türkkan, announced that 100 surface ships, eight submarines, 39 aircraft, 16 helicopters, 28 unmanned aerial vehicles, seven unmanned surface vehicles, two SAT teams, and three SAS teams are set for the DENİZKURDU-II/2024 Naval Exercise. He announced that 15,000 personnel would take part in the exercise.
