Spain Makes Major Investment in Hürjet Advanced Trainer TurDef

Spanish Minister of Defence Margarita Robles stated that there will be an investment worth €1.375 billion in the joint development of Hürjet for Spain.

Infodefensa reported that there will be a major investment for the joint development of Hürjet for the requirements of the Spanish Air Force. The investment worth €1.375 billion ($1.61 billion) will fund the development and introduction of the new trainers developed from Hürjet with a goal of 28 to 30 aircraft.

TUSAŞ and Airbus signed a MoU to cooperate on the ITS-C programme during FEINDEF 2025, with the latter heading the Spanish firms to take part. The cooperation will combine Airbus’s design, manufacturing, service support, and training knowledge with TUSAŞ’s capabilities on Hürjet.

15 Spanish companies will take part in the introduction of Hürjet into the Spanish Air and Space Force: Aciturri, Aernova, Aertec, Airtificial, Amper, Centum, Cesa, Clue, GMV, Grabysur, Indra, ITP, Grupo Oesía, Orbital and Sener.
