SSB Haluk Görgün Lists 2026 Goals for Defence Industry TurDef

Haluk Görgün listed the defence industry and acquisition goals for 2026 during the fifth Global Strategies in Aerospace and Defence Industry conference.

2026 goals for the Turkish defence industry include the deliveries of new systems, serial production launches, and R&D projects on new technologies.

Key officials, including the Secretary of the Turkish Defence Industries Haluk Görgün; CEOs/Deputy General Managers of TUSAŞ, ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, ASFAT, TEI, HAVELSAN, and STM, announced the 2025 achievements and 2026 goals.

Haluk Görgün listed the 2026 goals as:

-Signing of the deal for KAAN fighter’s serial production

-Transition to the CDR stage for TF35000 turbofan engines being developed for KAAN

-Delivery of ALTAY MBTs in “two-digit” numbers

-Delivery of the second I-class frigate TCG İzmit (F-516)

-First deliveries for HÜRKUŞ (Likely the improved HÜRKUŞ-II)

-First deliveries of KIZILELMA unmanned fighter

-First deliveries of Bayraktar TB3 UCAV to the Turkish Navy

-First deliveries of Bayraktar TB2T-AI armed UAVs with more sophisticated AI systems and performance refinements

-Delivery of 15 medium-weight UGVs and the launch of serial production for several types

-Demonstration of swarming capabilities for kamikaze USVs

-High-count deliveries for air defence systems

-Serial production of AKYA 533 mm torpedoes for submarines

-Incorporation of AKATA (Submarine-based ATMACA AShM) to submarines

-Signing of contracts to localise the production of various large-calibre guns

-Launch of the GİZEM programme to develop laser weapons with higher power output

-Delivery of ASELSAN’s YILDIRIM 100 DIRCM on a helicopter

-Delivery of at least two ALP 300-G early warning and ALP 100-G multi-function AESA radars

-Entry of the KORAL 200 electronic warfare system to the inventory, which incorporates higher performance compared to the baseline version
