TAIS Shipbuilding General Manager Çakır announced his resignation from his LinkedIn account. Çakır informed his followers with a note in Turkish and English; “I leave my Managing Director position at TAIS Gemi İnşa ve Teknoloji A.Ş. Company as of today. Wish all the best to my contacts.”
TAIS Gemi İnşa ve Teknoloji A.Ş. is the one that constructs three I class frigates simultaneously. Three shipyards, Anadolu, Sefine and Sedef, joined their forces. They were awarded the construction of three MILGEM frigates. As TurDef wrote exclusive news, TAIS will start negotiations with the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) to construct four I-class vessels further in accordance with the Defence Industry Executive Committee's (SSİK) meeting on 3 January 2024.
Çakır retired in 2018 as the Commander of Naval Technics and started to work at TAİS as the Director of Defence Programmes in 2019. He was appointed General Manager in February 2023.
