TCG Beykoz Corvette Spotted With Mysterious Weapon at Aft TurDef

Following the firing test of ASELSAN’s GÖKSUR 100-N VLS vertical launch point defence missile system (PDMS), TCG Beykoz is seemingly headed for a new test.

TCG Beykoz (F-503) was spotted in Alaybey Shipyard, located in the province of İzmir, with a weapon system covered by a blanket.

When the shape is inspected, and the location on the ship is considered, there is a resemblance to the ROKETSAN’s LEVENT PDMS, which was test-fired in 2024.

The ex-French Navy corvette could be alternatively described as a test ship at this point due to its advanced age and the amount of new weaponry tested on it, such as MKE’s Denizhan 76/62 mm naval gun and GÖKSUR 100-N VLS PDMS (The vertical launcher was angled in the test).

Both ASELSAN and ROKETSAN are developing multiple PDMS solutions, with ASELSAN using the Göksur based on Bozdoğan air-to-air missile and ROKETSAN using the LEVENT missile designed from scratch.

ASELSAN offers GÖKSUR 100-N/StA (Standalone), GÖKSUR 100-N (20-round launcher), and GÖKSUR 100-N VLS (Flexible vertical launch configuration) in its PDMS portfolio.

Similarly, ROKETSAN’s LEVENT will be available in both ship-dependent and standalone configurations. Both standalone-type PDMS use a sensor suite consisting of four AESA radars and one EO/IR system.
