TS1400 Turboshaft Engine Freshly Off Test Run at EFES 2026 TurDef

TEI’s TS1400 turboshaft engine, developed for the T625 GÖKBEY utility helicopter, freshly off test runs, was displayed at the EFES 2026 exercise’s exhibition area.

TEI made a rather unusual display at its booth for EFES 2026’s exhibition section with a TS1400 engine that had freshly completed its test runs, which had been performed starting from mid-April 2021.

TS1400 has been developed for TUSAŞ’s T625 GÖKBEY six-tonnes class utility helicopter to replace the foreign CTS800 turboshaft engines. T625 to use the engine in the near future has also been used during the EFES 2026 exercise.

The engine’s certification work is ongoing, and the engine’s iteration using parts complying with regulations will run on the helicopter in 2026. The indigenous engine’s introduction, with the inclusion of certification in accordance with international regulations, holds importance not only for independence in serial production but also for marketability of T625 in the civilian sector.
