Turkiye Gains a New Naval Shipyard: Aksaz

Turkiye is becoming the owner of a military shipyard at the point where the Mediterranean meets the Aegean. 

Aksaz Shipyard Command will be put into service today. Ministry of National Defence company ASFAT Inc. shared information about the operation of Aksaz Shipyard Command in a post it made on social media today. 

ASFAT announced that Aksaz Shipyard Command will be put into service with a ceremony that President Erdoğan attends. With this post, the model to be implemented in Aksaz has also emerged. It is understood that ASFAT will carry out the projects to be undertaken by the shipyard, as in Istanbul Shipyard Command, but the management of the shipyard will be under the responsibility of the Ministry of National Defence.

The facility was formerly called Aksaz Repair Support Command, affiliated to Gölcük Shipyard Command. It is renewed and its capacity is expanded. It is called Aksaz Shipyard Command.
