The Turkish Defence Ministry is preparing to launch the third Turkish AIP submarine of Type 214TN, which was moved to the Gölcük Shipyard Command's floating dockyard.
The move is a critical step that signals that the basic assembly of the craft and the installation of most systems are complete, and its launch is nearing.
Murat Reis started to be manufactured in March 2018, with a "first steel cutting" ceremony. Turkish shipyards have already launched the first of the class, the Piri Reis, which is undergoing sea trials, and the second, the Hizir Reis, while another three are in various stages of construction.
Reis class submarines are built under the licence of Germany, and they have an Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) system.
