TUSAŞ’s T925 Utility Helicopter Gets a New Fuselage Design TurDef

T925 helicopter, as the heavier follow-up to the T625 Gökbey, has received several important design changes, including an entirely different fuselage design.

With the updated design, the T925 utility helicopter has gained a layout that is more similar to the UH-60 helicopters in use but also adds an extra ton to the MTOW. The new design’s MTOW is at 12 tonnes with the extra ton.

With the new layout, the rear ramp from the previously presented design is not present. There might have been a change in direction regarding the use of a ramp after discussions with the government agencies about adopting the helicopter.

Additionally, the new layout adds a one-side horizontal tail for altitude control at forward flight.

The maximum speed is 324 km/h for the new design, which is higher than the previously given 297 km/h.

While the external looks are similar to the UH-60, specifications such as 12 tonnes of MTOW, passenger capacity of 19, and 2500x2 shp powerplant are more identical to those of Sikorsky S-92 and Super Puma helicopter.

It can be inferred that TUSAŞ decided on a familiar layout while bringing a larger carrying capacity compared to the utility helicopters in use with both civilian and military branches of Turkiye.
