Berlin to deliver COBRA to Ukraine

The German federal government plans to hand over the Cobra (Counter Battery Radar) to Ukraine. In addition, Ukraine is to get high-tech radars that the Bundeswehr does not even have. According to Die Welt news, Berlin wants to send a COBRA radar to Ukraine to detect Russia’s shots. The Radar will increase the sensitivity of the 155mm Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers’ countershots.

USAF selects Boeing’s E-7 to replace the E-3s

While the current E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System fleet is suffering from obsolescence issues, the Department of the Air Force has decided to replace a portion of the fleet with the E-7 Wedgetail. A contract award is scheduled for the fiscal year 2023. In December 2021, USAF secretary Frank Kendall once said that the service is looking for a stopgap AWACS aircraft until it can develop and field a space-based AWACS system.
