As China does not want Taiwan to be recognised as a country, the state is formulated as “the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States”. The “Representation” demands Contractor Technical Assistance and related equipment for an estimated cost of $95 million. Today, the Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale.
