Altınay Signs a Contract for İstif Class Frigates at MİLGEM

Altınay announced that it signed a contract worth € 10,750,000.00 for the supply of "Critical Subsystems" to be used in "İstif Class" ships at MİLGEM. Altınay announced in a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that it signed a contract worth € 10,750,000.00.

The unofficial translation of the company's statement to KAP reads as follows: Our company has signed a contract worth € 10,750,000.00 for the supply of "Critical Subsystems" to be used in "İstif Class" ships belonging to the Turkish Naval Forces Command Navy within the scope of "Naval Systems Programs". Deliveries within the scope of the contract will be made between 2025 and 2027.

The company did not share information about the work package it undertook, but various media outlets claimed that this package was the Real-Time Infrared Signature Management System RISMS. RISMS is explained as follows on Altınay's official website: The Real-Time Infrared Signature Management (RTIRSM) System can instantly track the infrared signature emitted by a military ship platform. By utilizing absolute temperature data from thermal sensors placed in various radiating zones of the platform, combined with meteorological information provided through the Ship Data Distribution System (SDDS), such as air temperature, wind speed, and sea water temperature, the system calculates the platform-specific infrared signature. Based on these calculations and the platform's current emissions, potential threat areas are identified and presented to platform authorities.
