U.S.-based defence firm Anduril and OpenAI will cooperate on C-UAS systems' AI development and training.
Anduril announced that OpenAI's models will be trained with Anduril's data library on C-UAS threats and operations to enhance processing and increase situational awareness. This partnership signals a significant step forward in integrating artificial intelligence into the defence sector, particularly in counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), as it highlights the increasing role of AI in defence technology.
Anduril's C-UAS solutions include AI-supported software for command control, Roadrunner-M loitering munition, Anvil quad-rotor kamikaze UAV, and the Pulsar series of jammers.
Aside from C-UAS systems, the firm is working on products for other service branches like the Barracuda scaled cruise missile family and an unmanned combat aircraft demonstrator for USAF's Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) programme as one of the two contenders.
