ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol announced that they will jointly produce smart ammuntion, communication and information security systems; electronic warfare systems with Azerbaijan.
ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol, who attended the 5th Azerbaijan International Defence Fair (ADEX 2024) held in Baku, evaluated ASELSAN’s activities in Azerbaijan and global goals to the Anadolu News Agency.
Akyol, who reminded that ASELSAN opened its first international unit in Baku in the 1990s and that they were one of the first international companies in Azerbaijan during the post-Soviet independence period, said, “Thousands of ASELSAN products are used in Azerbaijan’s security units and civilian units. We are expanding our company here and are now discussing joint production with local partners. In the coming period, you will see that some of ASELSAN’s products are manufactured in Baku and offered to the world.” It is learned that ASELSAN will jointly produce smart ammuntion, communication and information security systems; electronic warfare systems.
Akyol, who also evaluated Israel’s pager and radio attacks in Lebanon, said the following:
“There is communication underlying all the products we are talking about. Artificial intelligence is effective because all data can communicate. The Çelik Kubbe (Steel Dome) we announced will have meaning if there is a communication architecture behind it. The attack on the pager and radios revealed how physically strategic this is. We have invested in this field for 50 years, knowing this business’s cyber security and electronic warfare dimensions. More than 1 million ASELSAN communication systems are used in Turkiye’s security forces, public officials and all critical units that need them. We have full control over their software, hardware and production. We will continue to provide this to the places where it is needed. More than 1 million users in our own country use highly developed, highly secure systems that include many controls, from their software and hardware and the fact that their parts cannot be changed. We also offer this to friendly and brotherly countries in the world.
On the other hand, ASELSAN will sell ASELFLIR-500 and TOLUN to various institutions, especially the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence.
