An inert Mk-82 500 lb general-purpose bomb produced by ASSAN Group was used in a test of ASELSAN’s LGK-82 laser guidance kit from the Baykar AKINCI UCAV.
The bomb was seen at the beginning of the test clip shared by Baykar. The “Nötr” designation is regarded as corresponding to the inert type, which has often been used in guidance kits’ tests.
ASSAN can produce the Mk-80 series of general-purpose bombs and Russian bombs in 100/250/500 kg classes. The firm has recently added Mk-82 with steel ball warhead and SZ-109 2000 lb bunker buster bomb (BLU-109) to its portfolio. ASSAN General Manager Gürcan Okumuş previously stated to TurDef that there are plans to add thermobaric and insensitive explosives for aircraft bombs to the list as well.
