According to a report by Kyrgyzstan-based AKIPress, Baykar is planning to set up a production facility for TB2 UAVs in Mongolia near the capital, Ulaanbaatar.
The claim is based on statements made by Mongolian Defence Minister Byambatsogt Sandag during a visit to Turkiye with Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa. The Minister mentioned that the construction of the UAV production facility would commence shortly. The announcement was reportedly made in an interview with Television Channel 25, a Mongolian private television channel. AKIPress stated that Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler is expected to attend the facility’s opening ceremony.

TurDef, however, could not reach the relevant news on Television Channel 25’s internet page and social media accounts.
President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa also visited the Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center to inspect Baykar’s products. Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar and Haluk Görgün, Head of the Defence Industry Secretariat, were also present during the visit. Earlier, President Ukhnaa and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a strategic partnership declaration and announced the signing of over ten cooperation agreements across various sectors.
Despite the geographical distance and limited direct transportation links between Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia, no major political issues affect the relationship between the two countries. Turkiye and Kyrgyzstan have developed a strong relationship, particularly in the area of military modernization. Both countries cooperate closely in the fight against terrorism and regional security.
