Bayraktar Akıncı UCAV Drops Winged TEBER-82 Guided Bomb TurDef

Baykar’s Akıncı UCAV dropped one fixed-winged TEBER-82 and two-winged TEBER-82 Laser+GNSS-guided 500 lb bombs and successfully hit all three targets.

This marks the first test of the longest-ranged TEBER-82 variant, which has a deployable wing kit with high aspect ratio wings like in KGK and LAÇİN kits to increase gliding performance. TEBER-82, with a deployable wing kit, debuted in the ADEX 2024 exhibition held in Azerbaijan.

Both winged TEBER-82 kits dropped from root hardpoints of Akıncı hit the targets, with one hitting very close to the centre.

Between the baseline and wing kit variants, a fixed-wing version also exists as a simpler solution to compensate for the range losses in UCAVs compared to fighter jets. The stubby fixed wings allow for a range of 30 km on UCAVs, comparable to the laser-guided variant of the MAM-T munition. This could be offered to countries that are finding the wing kit version expensive as well.
