Chilean state-owned weapons and ammunition manufacturer FAMAE has opened its 9x19 mm ammunition line, which uses the Turkish firm Ateşçi’s machinery.
The recently launched line will produce 9x19 mm ammunition using Ateşçi’s various machinery for production and assembly.
In addition to manufacturing 9x19 mm ammunition, FAMAE also manufactures firearms chambered in this type, such as the SAF submachine gun and the newer Tornado-F pistol.

The machinery supplied by Turkiye-based Ateşçi includes casing production units, round assembly machines, and packaging systems.
Chilean Leopard 2A4s’ Modernisation by ASELSAN
ASELSAN is modernising Leopard 2A4 MBTs of the Chilean Army with different stages of modernisation to ensure the implementation of critical features before more extensive modifications are performed.
The first two stages have seen the integration of new communication equipment and commander’s sights (ASELSAN ATS-65). The next stages involve a new armour package and potentially the AKKOR active protection system to defend against ATGMs and UAVs.
