The US State Department has approved a probable foreign military sale (FMS) of Excalibur Projectiles to Denmark for a cost of $121 million. The U.S. has intensified its ammunition sales to Denmark. Following its recent M1156A1 Precision Guidance Kit (PGK) for 155 shells to Denmark at a cost of $85 million, a second approval is announced.
The US State Department approved an FMS sale of 339 M982A1 Excalibur Projectiles and related components for an estimated $121 million. The main contractor will be RTX Corporation.
The M982 Excalibur is a 155 mm extended-range guided artillery shell. With GPS guidance for improved accuracy, it has a range of approximately 40 to 57 kilometres, depending on configuration, and a CEP of four meters.
