MPS Triglav patrol vessel of the Slovenian Navy has been delivered following the modernisation and structural enhancements to prolong the service life.
The modernisation package includes an electronics/weaponry overhaul from ASELSAN, providing many other foreign warships with electronics, sensors, and weapon systems.
The Russian-made AK-630 30x165 mm CIWS used on patrol vessels as a high-firepower weapon against surface targets has been swapped out for ASELSAN’s SMASH 200/30 RCWS, which uses a 30x173 mm autocannon with a lower fire rate but higher accuracy and compliance with NATO inventory.
Another addition to the armament is the long-range acoustic system for alternative communication and non-lethal intervention.
Upgrade to sensors include reworked mast and sensors capable of tracking up to mini-class UAVs/USVs.
The structural enhancements followed by an inspection will contribute to the ship’s service life as important as the renewal of operational capabilities.
DESAN has recently signed a contract to build 99-meter coast guard ships for Malaysia and will build two of the Hisar-class OPVs with an up-armament which consists of an eight-cell MİDLAS VLS of ROKETSAN for HİSAR-D or SAPAN G/M-1 air defence missiles.
